  • The purpose of the Student Research Program is to encourage gifted medical students to consider careers in research related to pediatrics. The program is specifically designed for students seeking a research opportunity at an institution other than their own medical school.

Preventing Preterm Birth Initiative
DEADLINE: January 31, 2012

  • The Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth (GAPPS) is now accepting letters of inquiry for a new grant program, the Preventing Preterm Birth initiative (PPB). GAPPS seeks projects that explore gestational origins, biological mechanisms and the immunological response to infection and nutritional deficiency which lead to preterm birth, especially in the developing world.

Pediatric Scientist Development Program
DEADLINE: February 1 of the PL-3 year

  • This program is designed to provide investigative training and career development support for pediatricians committed to careers in academic medicine. The PSDP offers an intense, full-time experience in basic, translational, or clinical research training in eminent research laboratories in the U.S. and Canada.

International Collaborative Award for Research (ICAR)
DEADLINE: April 1, 2012

  • Collaborative interdisciplinary research has allowed for an expanded viewpoint in biomedical research. With increased globalization, colleagues across the continents can interact to address a research problem thereby improving the research quality and adding diverse perspectives. The International Pediatric Research Foundation (IPRF) will therefore solicit applications for an International Collaborative Research Program to foster research efforts between two or more institutions from different continents that allow for synergy and complementarity of the research effort.

Early Investigators’ Exchange Program
DEADLINE: October 1, 2012

  • The Early Investigators’ Exchange Program is funded by the International Pediatric Research Foundation to promote basic, clinical, and translational research directed to the prevention, causes, and treatment of pediatric diseases. The program promotes pediatric research through short-term, international research exchanges (< 12 months) for investigators in the early phase of their career.
