International Neonatal Hematology and Immunology Meeting has partnered with the ISEH 37th Annual
Scientific Meeting
July 9-12, 2008 Boston, Massachussetts

The objective of the International Neonatal Hematology & Immunology Program this year is to join together world class experts in developmental hematology and immunology with a knowledgeable audience of perinatal clinicians and scientists to focus discussion on unique features of the maturing immune system and how those characteristics influence responses to multiorgan injury while simultaneously defending against invasive bacterial disease.

Partnering with the ISEH organization is expected to encourage novel opportunities for collaborative research.

The concurrent meeting format will feature dynamic speakers presenting and exploring controversies in translational immunology, hematology and inflammatory responses to injury. The joint sessions will provide a unique blend of educational opportunities, poster viewing and small discussion groups.

NEWBORN BRAIN SYMPOSIUM
September 10-13, 2008
• St. Louis, Missouri

This course is designed for physicians (particularly neonatologists), scientists, neonatal nurses, and allied health professionals with an interest in neonatal neurology. The mechanisms of injury to be covered will include metabolic abnormality, global ischemia, focal ischemia (stroke), growth restriction, seizures, intraventricular hemorrhage, and periventricular leukomalacia. These mechanisms will be related to the technologies used in evaluation of the newborn brain (EEG, aEEG, US, MRI and NIRS) and potential neuroprotective interventions to enhance understanding of Who? When? Why? and What Outcome? Workshops focusing on the interpretation of MRI and aEEG/EEG will be undertaken to interactively educate the attendee.
