Student Research Program
Kathy Crews, Coordinator

The Student Research Program was instituted in 1991 to encourage highly qualified medical students to consider careers in Pediatric Research. To date 316 students have been funded in 172 different lab locations. The 1999 Student Research Program will end the decade breaking all previous years’ records in funding 57 students out of 174 applications.

The program was able to fund additional students this year due to the generous donations from the following pediatric departments and we really appreciate their support:

Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs, Inc.
Baylor College of Medicine, Dept. of Pediatrics, Houston, TX
Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Dept. of Pediatrics, Akron, OH
Emory University, Department of Pediatrics, Atlanta, GA
Indiana University School of Medicine, Dept. of Pediatrics, Indianapolis, IN
Ohio State University, Dept. of Pediatrics, Columbus, OH
University of Buffalo School of Medicine, Dept. of Pediatrics, Buffalo, NY
University of Colorado Health Science Center, Department of Pediatrics, Denver, OH
University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dept. of Pediatrics, Los Angeles, CA
University of Virginia Children’s Medical Center, Dept. of Pediatrics, Charlottesville, VA

We are extremely appreciative of the continued generosity of those who have provided support to the program over the past several years:
