COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS

Congratulations to the following individuals who have been elected to the APS Council:

We’d like to express appreciation and gratitude to the two individuals who are completing their tenure on Council at the conclusion of the 1999 PAS. Ralph Feigin, who served as President in 1998 and Norman J. Siegel who completes his 5 year term as Secretary-Treasurer.

   

APS WORKGROUPS

The APS Work Groups offer the promise of applying the talent, leadership, experience, and influence of the APS to some of the major problems facing academic pediatrics and child health today. We encourage members who have the interest and time to attend the work group meeting of your choice. The schedule of workgroups is listed below:

CALL FOR APS MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

Now is a good time to start thinking about candidates
to nominate for membership to the APS.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, July 30th, 1999

Applications can be obtained from our Website, at our association
table at the PAS Annual Meeting, or by contacting the Central Office

   
 
   

2000 NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Michael M. Kaback, M.D. is chair of the 2000 nominating committee. The members of the committee will be announced at the Business Meeting and a formal call for candidates will be sent to the members in June. It is the responsibility of this committee to select the slate of candidates for Vice-President (3 year term - succession to Presidency) and Council Member (7 year term extending through 2006). These individuals will have an important influence on the future direction of your Society and therefore your advice and counsel is greatly appreciated. If you wish to submit the name of a candidate, please send a brief outline highlighting qualifications, as well as a CV-biography. Nominations should be sent to Kathy Cannon at the Central Office.

The Deadline for Nominations is September 15, 1999
