YOUNG FACULTY AWARD

Mead Johnson Nutritionals, the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
at East Virginia Medical School, and the Southern Society for Pediatric Research
Eligibility
The candidate must be an instructor or Assistant Professor and within 5
years of the completion of fellowship training. They must be the first
author/presenter of the abstract accepted for presentation. Faculty that
are candidates for the SSPR Young Investigator Awards will automatically
be entered in this competition
Procedure
Candidates for the Young Faculty Awards must check the appropriate box
on the electronic abstract submission form in order to be considered for
the competition. It is NOT necessary to send a copy of the submitted
abstract to the Secretary-Treasurer's office.
Criteria
for Evaluation
A committee of three (3) judges who are senior members of the SSPR will
select approximately 10 abstracts from those submitted for
consideration. Winners will be determined by the scientific merit and
originality of the research.
Awards
Winners of the SSPR Young Faculty Awards will receive a stipend of $500
to facilitate meeting attendance.

Recipients of the SSPR Young-Faculty Awards at the 2007 Annual SSPR
Meeting in New Orleans, LA. Awards were sponsored the Southern Society
of Pediatric Research.
