APS logoThe Voice of APS

The goal of the invited American Pediatric Society Viewpoint in JAMA Pediatrics (formerly Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine) column was to use it as a platform for the leaders in academic American pediatrics, as represented by the American Pediatric Society (APS), to speak out on the major issues confronting pediatrics and child health in the United States. The APS commentaries will be indexed in PubMed, as are all the articles in JAMA Pediatrics. The audience for this column is primarily readers of JAMA Pediatrics, including practicing pediatricians, academic pediatricians and policy makers. These commentaries are intended to be thought provoking and propose approaches for addressing some of the large problems and issues in health and medicine today as they affect research, training, clinical care and public policy related to the health and health care of children.
